Apertures are enclosures that use various cutouts in metal to frame the color or animations programmed in the lights inside. Mini Turrells I call them, after the artist that makes some of the largest holes, punching them into walls or building structures to reveal spaces behind that are barely registering as space due to the way we see positive and negative space. Being small and much more portable, they give you much of the same feeling along with interesting plays with gestalt shapes and alignment.
